11 months old

Today my sweet little girl is 11 months old! It is really hard for me to believe that this year has gone by so quickly! Emilee is a sweet, cuddlely (with me at least), loud, fiesty, and shy little girl.

She is still deathly afriad of people she doesn't know very well and usually cries when they are too close to her - yes, we have "that baby" at church!

She is very strong-willed and is quick to let us know if Harrison or Luke has "wronged" her!

She screams when she's happy, sad, mad, and sleepy.

She pushed a stool and "walked" around in the kitchen today for the first time.

She loves Mexican food best and can eat it faster than we can get it cut up for her (salsa and all!).

Her newest words are "bye-bye" and "nana" (banana) but it sounds like she is trying to repeat other things we say too.

She is usually a good sleeper, but when she has a bad night or isn't feeling well (ear infection and allergic reaction most recently) she is a HORRIBLE sleeper and by that I mean she doesn't sleep!!!

She thinks Harrison is 'da bomb' (excuse the reference but there is no other way to explain how she acts when she sees him). She laughs and giggles at everything he does - which he loves!

I'm sure there are other things I want to tell you and remember on here but that is all I can think of tonight. I will add more when I think of them.

Here are a few pictures I took of her today on her 11 month old birthday.

Chewing on a sock
Playing on my un-made bed

This is how she plays peek-a-boo

Please click on this picture and make it big and check out her teeth - they have STILL not broken the skin and I may loose my mind if they don't break through soon!

Bathtime tonight - silly girl!
We love you Emilee!

Allergic

After all Emilee's trouble with teething she also got an ear infection. She was put on Amoxocillin and 7 days later (Thanksgiving night) she broke out in a rash all over her body. We went to the doctor today and were confirmed that she is allergic to the medicine (so am I). She is now taking another antibiotic because the ear infection wasn't completely cleared up. I am really hoping the rash will be gone soon and that this little girl's teeth with FINALLY break through! Seriously, she is the slowest teether EVER!!

Doesn't she look pitiful! Thankfully she doesn't act like she feels bad or like the rash bothers her.

We are really hoping this will all clear up soon because WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY (in 3 wks.)!!!!! SHHHHH.... Harrison still doesn't know and we don't want him to find out yet. I am very excited and having a hard time not telling him, but in the end it will be worth the wait to see how excited he will be. Can't wait to tell everyone about it when we return.

Teething

Please lift up a little prayer for this sweet girl today. She is having a TERRIBLE time teething. And when I say terrible I mean she is screaming A LOT and putting her little hand over her mouth - pitiful! Please pray those 4 top teeth pop through quickly!!!

Emilee Jane

I am very sorry for being so behind on blogging. I just realized that I never did a 9 month post about our girl and now she is 10 months old!

Here are a few things about our sweet girl that she is doing/has done in the past 2 months:

1. She can shake her head yes and no.

2. She can clap her hands and wave bye bye

3. She puts her head down and looks at her toes when we play peek-a-boo. When we say peek-a-boo she picks her head back up and smiles at us

4. She is into everything! She is a quick crawler and can pull up to anything. She is very quiet when she is crawling around and exploring. Very different from her brother who I never had to wonder where he was :)

5. She eats EVERYTHING!!! Whatever we put in front of her is devourered!

6. She LOVES the bathtub and doesn't mind getting water in her face, mouth or ears. She tries to crawl up the back of the tub and then slide down and usually goes under - and she loves it!

7. She says "mama", "dada" and "baba". She knows I am mama and Mike is dada, but baba can be a lot of things. Sometimes I think she says bye-bye but I'm not sure. She claps her hands together for the sign for "more" and throws her hands up in the air for the sign "all done"

8. She loves to spit and make gurgling sounds with Harrison, especially in the car. They start making noises and laughing with each other all the time in the car - it is the BEST sound!

9. Her favorite toys - cars and guns - and just about anything else that Harrison is playing with. She does love baby dolls though - her face lights up when she sees one and she reaches out to give it a kiss

10. She has a quick little temper and will "scream" at Harrison or her cousin Luke if they do something she doesn't like

We love her and can't wait to see all the great things God has planned for her life :)
