Even though Emilee decided not to join us this Christmas, we still had a wonderful time and I am very thankful for the last Christmas I had to focus just on Harrison. I am sure next year will be much different with a 4 year old AND an almost 1 year old! Here are a few pictures from the day with my family.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well, I've gone and done it - hit the BIG 3-0!

It's not going to be a very exciting day since I'm big and pregnant and all, but it's fun to just have a day with my 2 boys before Emilee arrives!

I don't think I'm going to mind being 30 either - it's sounds so sophisticated doesn't it!

Today I will just be hanging out and trying to walk this baby out!

Hopefully my next post will be about Emilee's arrival!

Random Things

1. It snowed this morning! It was really pretty and Harrison was really excited to see it - too bad it only lasted for about 5 minutes :). Maybe it will start up again later.

2. Harrison just finished going through a growth spurt. For the last 2 growth spruts Harrison has not slept very well at night. He gets up 2-3 times a night, which is not too much fun and then it causes him to have "nightmares" also. This past time the nightmares were about owls. Here is a conversation we had around 3 am one morning:
H: Are there owls in our house?
Me: No, buddy. Owls cannot come into our house.
H: Why do those owls keep waking me up?
Me: There are no owls waking you up Harrison, you are just having trouble sleeping.
H: Where do owls live?
Me: They live in the woods. They don't come around people because they are scared of us.
H: Will you stay with me?
Me: (Heart melting) Yes, buddy scoot over and I will lay down with you :)

The next morning he informed me that "the owls are frustrating me mommy!" We took a walk around the house and looked for owls nests in the trees to help him see there was nothing to worry about or be "frustrated" about!

I think it is so funny when he uses "big" words - too cute.

Thankfully the owls are gone, and Harrison is sleeping all night again! I am thankful that things are back to normal, but I do love snuggling with that sweet little boy too!

3. Only 5 days left before Emilee is due... We are very anxious for her to get here! Especially me!

4. We went to Roper Mtn. Christmas Lights with Harrison last night and it was SO much fun. Harrison LOVED it. The lights were fun to see and the Christmas Village was lots of fun too - we saw Santa, had hot chocolate and Harrison got a reindeer balloon made while he watched! I'll post a few pictures later.

I know there were a few other things I was going to write on this blog, but I can't think of them right now. I'll add them later when I remember again :)

Dinosaur Shorts

My nephew Luke borrowed this costume at Halloween time. Casey brought it back to me last week and today Harrison said he wanted to wear the "dinosaur outfit" (Mike would hate that he said that!). I told him he it would look like he had on dinosaur shorts; he thought that would be very funny - and it was! Here is how much he has grown in 2 years!

We are slowly and surely coming along with Emilee's room. There are still a few things we need to get and we still need to paint her name a little brighter white (it's in the pink stripe behind her crib but you can't really see it), but we will eventually get it done - probably after she is here - but that's ok.

Here are some pictures of what we have done so far, just in case you were wondering. There are white flower decals in the pink stripe around the room, but they didn't show up too well in the pictures.

Putting up the Christmas Tree

This year we are behind in getting our Christmas decorations up. Mike has been very busy with work and I obviously cannot get the boxes out of the attic by myself. Friday, before Mike left for PA to go to his cousins funeral we quickly put up our tree. I didn't get great pictures because we were in a hurry, but here are a few.

Philip Culver

Please be in prayer for the Culver family. Their oldest son, Philip, passed away around noon on Wednesday afternoon. Philip was one of Mike's first cousins and he will be greatly missed! As you can see from this picture, he had a smile that you would never forget and such a happy outlook despite his disabilities. He was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. We rest in the fact of knowing he is at peace with our Lord in heaven!

* He was also a HUGE Steelers fan and was so happy to meet the Steelers QB, Big Ben!!!

Philip Reid Culver, 17, of Normalville, flew home to Jesus at 11:50 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, while in Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. He was born Jan. 31, 1992, in West Penn Hospital, Bloomfield, given only three days, but lived 17 glorious years with his parents, Ronald R. and Nancy Bigham Culver, his brother William, and sister Victoria, all of Normalville. Philip was a senior at Connellsville Area High School, where he spent many a happy day with fellow classmates, teachers, aides, van drivers, and the rest of the gang. He was a faithful member of the Indian Head Church of God and had a heart for all the members and truly enjoyed the church choir. Philip also shared an appreciation for his Pittsburgh Steelers football, country music, going to concerts, and riding the waves at the Outer Banks with his friends and family, but most especially with his daddy. Philip received love from numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and was adored by the many care providers, like nurse Lori and aide Denise. In addition to his parents and brother and sister, Philip is survived by his maternal grandfather, Worth S. Bigham, and his paternal grandparents, Perry and Nina Culver, all of Connellsville. Philip was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Virginia N. Bigham, on Jan. 16, 2009; and his uncles, Worth Greg Bigham and Edwin Victor Culver, both in 1993. Philip will be greatly missed by his immediate family and all those who blessed him and whom he blessed in his lifetime. Goodbye our sweet, precious son. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Road, Melcroft, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Douglas Nolt and the Rev. Edward Mikkelsen co-officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Normalville Cemetery.
