Harrison's cake

I decided to make a train cake for Harrison's 2nd birthday and I looked up pictures and directions on the internet. It didn't look too difficult and my friend Julie has made lots of cakes and was going to help me - piece of cake - right!?!?!

Well, after 3 days and 11-12 hrs. of working on the cake it was finally completed. We had many set-backs and had to use 4 cake mixes to complete it, it continued to fall apart and the store icing was melting but in the end it was beautiful and Harrison LOVED it!

I could not have done it without Julie - she made the whole thing I just said "Go, Julie go!" We had lots of fun at the party and I will post more party pictures soon - just wanted ya'll to see the masterpiece :)

This is what happened before the end of the party! Thank goodness we took pictures, sang and blew out the candle first!

Birthday Boy...

The birthday boy DID NOT want to go to sleep today. On the first attempt he played is his bed for 45 minutes and I decided he wasn't tired enough yet so we went outside and ran around. On the second attempt he was in his bed playing for a hour and then he finally gave in - although I am not sure he meant to...

I did lay him down flat after I took the picture :)

*** Also the birthday boy has pee-peed on the potty twice today! We are not potty training officially but this is still exciting to me~

*** Here's one more sleeping picture that I meant to put up a while ago - I just don't know how he gets comfortable sometimes!

2 YEARS OLD!!!

Happy Birthday Harrison!

We love you very much!

I am amazed at how much he has changed over this 2 quick years!

He is truly a blessing from the Lord.

Catching up...

I have several random pictures that I keep telling myself to post about and keep not getting it done so I am going to just put them all into one. We are staying very busy in the Knight household, but are very happy too! Hope you are all doing well also.

Harrison has some big shoes to fill!

This is the way he likes to watch cartoons - on his bike that is way too small for him. He likes it much better than the tricycle we bought for him.

Second black eye!

Amos is Harrison's best friend! Amos is very patient with Harrison - here Harrison's entire body is laying on top of Amos while he gives him a kiss!

Harrison loves to ride on his worm! Notice the hat he has on - it is the inside of his construction hat. He likes to take it out of the construction hat and where it on its own! I tell him he looks like he just got out of the torture chamber!

The back of the torture chamber hat!

This is what happens when markers are not monitored closely!

Thank goodness these are washable!

A few things we have heard over the moniter these last few weeks..

- R U mommy? R U daddy?

- MMMOOOOMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYY, bobbies (pacy) fall down. (this means that he has thrown them all out of his crib and he wants me to come pick them up)

- Mommy, Daddy, Gammie, Pop, GG, Goc, Jessie, Gam-ma, Pap-Pap, Shashe (Charlotte), Jack-Jack (he just continues to list off peoples names as fast as he can)

He is a mess and keeps me smiling!

MINE

Over the past few weeks, we have been battling with Harrison over him saying "Mine!". If you think about it, this is a very confusing thing to try to explain to an almost 2 year old. "Yes, this toy is yours, but it is not kind or nice to say mine. You should share your toys and not be selfish with them." I have said this to him many times but it has not "clicked" in his mind yet...

Yesterday morning when I went in to get him out of bed he looked at my and said, "My bike!" and then gave me this look:

This obviously isn't him yesterday morning but this is the "look".

He repeated "My bike" and then gave me the look again and I started laughing. Several more times he would tell me "my ____________" and give me the look. We would have our talk about not saying mine but the look was just cracking me up! He didn't always do it immediately after he said mine. Sometimes there would be a second or two and then those lips would poke out. I told Mike about it when he got home and he witnessed Harrison doing it. He was then reminded that this was something he used to do as a child!!! Now I know where Harrison got it from! :) Mike said it was a defiant look he would give to his mom. She would tell him not to shoot his lips at her.

So now we are dealing with it as a defiant issue that will hopefully be resolved soon (meaning that I am not laughing about it anymore). He only did it once today, "My 'ammer!" and the "look". It is really funny but we definitely don't want for it to continue! Pray that we will have the patience to deal with Harrison and that he will stop "shooting his lips" at us soon.
