Last week I went in for my normal cleaning with Harrison in tow because I wanted him to watch one more time before it was his turn. I told our wonderful hygenist, Crystal, that Harrison was going to watch one more time and then he would have his teeth cleaned the next time (in six months). She said she wouldn't be there in six months because she would be out on maternity leave - so exciting for her, sad for me. She finished my cleaning a little early so we asked Harrison if he wanted to have his teeth cleaned and he said "Yes!". He climbed right up in the chair ready to go. He didn't seem to mind any of it and he especially loved Mr. Thristy, which he got to do himself (in 2nd picture). She said he had great teeth (and that we were doing a good job brushing his teeth -yay!) I always wonder since he isn't still for very long at any given time.
I am so glad this was a good experience for him and I hope in six months, even though Mrs. Crystal won't be there, that he will have another good dentist visit!

Boo in the Zoo!

Last night we went to Boo in the Zoo at the Greenville Zoo with Casey and Luke and Casey's parents. Harrison loved wearing his cow costume and Luke was the cutest little pirate! Here are a few pictures of the cuteness!

This is the only other cow we saw last night. She was handing out candy in the Not Very Scary House and took a quick picture with Harrison.

Stone Mountain

Last Sunday we made a trip down to Stone Mountain with Mike's family. It was a really nice day with everyone and we had great weather! Here are a few pictures from the day.

*** I should also add that Mike's mom came over last night to listen to him breathe to make sure it wasn't stuck in his throat. We will only go get an x-ray if I can't "find" it it the next few days.

Last Saturday Harrison and I went to Nivens Apple Orchard with mom. She had been wanting to take Harrison to get him a pumpkin this year. We had a great time!

Harrison was a little nervous to be "in" the pumpkin patch because there were bees near the little pumpkin we picked. We really wanted to get his picture next to this big pumpkin. We asked him to squat down next to the pumpkin and put his hand on it :) He did just that...

Decorating

For those of you who know me well, you know that I am not the greatest decorater. However, this year I have reached an all-time low! I have always decorated for fall and most definitely for Christmas because those are my 2 favorite times of the year.
Here is the fall decoration I have out so far this year:

A gourd Harrison just had to have at the grocery store! Hopefully we can at least get a pumpkin and a mum for the front porch, but I'm not promising anything!

Maybe I am just saving up so I can decorate a little for Christmas. I have already made up my mind that we will at least have a tree (for Harrison's sake). I may take a poll after Christmas as to when I will get those decorations put away - but we will see!

A few things...

Nights without a bobby... not so bad.

Naps without a bobby... not so much!

Harrison is doing really well falling asleep at night, but during the day for naps it is taking FOREVER for him to fall asleep. Most days it has been 30 min, but today it took 45 min. after I read him several books!

Any suggestions!?!?!?!

We took a quick trip to Charleston Tuesday afternoon because Mike had to work there on Wed. We stayed with John and Jessica and enjoyed spending some time with them and of course seeing Gracie! Here are some new pictures.

Sleeping Beauty - almost 2lbs bigger than she was when she was born!Harrison loves her! He asked to hold her several times on our quick visit. For Harrison to choose to sit and be still is really something!When Pop (dad) asked Harrison what he thought of Gracie over Skpe, Harrison said "She is so 'mall (small)".And one more with her eyes open. Sometimes I see Jessica and the next time I look at her I see John!

3 Year Check Up

Harrison had his 3 year well check up this morning. We switched to a new pediatrician and I really liked the office and doctor A LOT! We had quickly picked a pediatrician when we moved up here and they were fine but I missed the practice we had in GA so much. This new office is a lot more like what we were used to in GA so I think it will be a great fit for us!

Here are his stats:

Weight: 30.4 lbs (37%)
Height: 38 1/2 in. (76%)
BMI: 14.42 (I don't know what that means, but he is in the 6%) She asked me if he ate much and I said YES! He was eating a snack when she walked in and had just had breakfast 30 minutes before we got there! She said "So, he's just skinny!" I guess so since he asked for Apple Jacks, a waffle, blueberries, an egg and yogurt for breakfast this morning!

Looks like we might have a tall skinny boy on our hands :)

Harrison also got his flu shot and he did great - just a big "Owww" and that was it! Next year will be a big year for shots (4), but we got out with just the one this time!

Night # 3

Tonight is Harrison's 3rd night of going to sleep without a pacy, and he is doing GREAT! Mike and I are so proud of him and honestly can't believe it has gone as smoothly as it has gone. I am sure there may still be a night sometime down the road when he wakes up in the middle of the night and just can't get back to sleep, but we can deal with that. We are just so happy that, although he is not always thrilled about not having his bobby, he is accepting it and falling asleep just fine! I know this is normal for children to be able to sleep without a pacy, but I just thought it might be a little more difficult because he just LOVED bobby so much!

Here he is tonight - sound asleep! Now we just need to work on getting him to stay under the covers!

As for Bobby Bear, he has really done no good! Here is where he sleeps most of the time! :)

A BIG day!

Three pretty BIG things happened in our house yesterday!


1. Harrison bought his "big boy bike" with some of his birthday money. He LOVES it! He asked if he could take it to church with us this morning and if he could ride it as soon as we got home this afternoon. Yesterday he was a little confused with the pedals since you push back to brake, but already today he is riding it like a pro!
2. Harrison got rid of bobby! We went to Build-A-Bear and he put his bobby inside his new bear. There were only a few tears from me :) just sad to see my little baby growing up!

3. Harrison traded his toddler bed for a twin! We asked him what he thought we should do with his baby bed and he said he wanted to give it to his baby sister - so sweet! Notice the completed Bobby Bear on the bed - Harrison picked out the outfit to buy him too.

Here he is today - asleep with NO BOBBY! Exciting and sad at the same time. As for Bobby Bear, every time Harrison asks for his bobby we remind him that he put it inside Bobby Bear and that he can hold his bear now. We then hand the bear to Harrison and he proceeds to pitch it across the room :). I think he is still a little frustrated about not having it but he did sleep all last night without it and fell asleep for his nap today without and without too much fussing! I know we may still have some trouble ahead the next few nights so say a little prayer for us to make it through this transition with him!

PS - I don't like this growing up stuff!!!

Harrison is 3!

Last Wednesday Mike took off work so we could spend the day with Harrison for his "real" birthday. We had a wonderful day together and took a little trip to Sky Top Orchard to pick some apples. Harrison loved climbing the trees, feeding the goats, playing on the playground, riding the wagon and picking the apples!

Harrison was very tired when we got home that day and his nap was a little later than usual. He wasn't waking up and it was starting to get late so I had the great idea to take the soccer ball from the top of his cake into his room while we sang Happy Birthday. I thought he would wake up happy and enjoy a little piece of cake for a snack. Here is the picture of him sort-of awake trying to blow out the candle. He wouldn't even sit up yet :)

This is the last picture we took of Harrison that day because we learned that this was NOT a good way to wake up a very tired 3 year old and the rest of the evening wasn't so pretty! We will know better for next year! :)

It was fun to watch Harrison and Ava watch a 3-D movie! Harrison kept pulling his glasses down whenever something came "flying" out at us and Ava eventually just took her glasses off!

Funniest picture of the day! I didn't even realize this was part of the picture until we got home. Needless to say we did make many bathroom trips that day with Harrison and 2 in diapers!

Last Sunday night we all drove down to Macon to stay with Mike's youngest brother, John, and his wife Amanda and their kids Ava and Leeland. Mike had to work down there on Monday and Tuesday so we took advantage of having the family there and went with him!

We had a great time hanging out, watching the kids play and we even managed an adult dinner with no kids (good thing John and Amanda lead the college kids at their church!).

Mike was busy working, interviewing someone for the GA area (so he won't have to drive down so much) and pressure washing a line of mildew on our house in GA that the HOA is fining us for - even though they know we live out of state, haven't seen the house is over a year, will not call us back etc, etc, etc... Sorry for the rant but we were a little frustrated with them about that issue!

Amanda and I thought it would be fun to take the kids to the Imagine It Museum in Atlanta on Tues. We packed everyone up, drove 1 1.5 hrs. and got there only to realize that is was CLOSED - for maintance! I had checked the website that morning for directions and there was nothing about it being closed on there, so needless to say we were a little perturbed. But, we are flexible mama's so we simply crossed the street and went to the Aquarium! The kids loved it and I loved that kids are free until age 3 (Harrison didn't turn three until the next day!). Harrison's 3rd Birthday Party

These pictures are out of order, but you will get the idea. We had Harrison's party at our church in the gym. The kids a great time running wild, playing with the big soccer ball, and eating pizza and cake! The adults had a good time talking and watching the adult men play crab soccer! Harrison has a wonderful family and great friends and we all enjoyed getting together to celebrate his birthday! Here is a pooped little birthday boy near the end of the party .
