Trip to Pennsylvania

Friday morning we got a call that Mike's grandmother had very unexpectedly passed away in her sleep Thursday night. We rearranged our plans for that day and the weekend and drove to PA with Mike's brothers (Mark and John) and their families.

It was a VERY long trip on the way up b/c we drove through the night. Our car (Mike, me, Amanda, Harrison and Ava) was a nightmare. Harrison and Ava could not sleep well at all. They kept waking up the entire 10 hour trip up there which was miserable for the rest of us. The other car (Mark, Casey, John and Luke) had a wonderful trip with a wonderful sleeping baby the entire time!

We were able to get some sleep when we got there at 7:30 Sat. morning before the greeting of friends that evening. We also had another greeting of friends on Sun. and the funeral on Monday. It was a sad time to see everyone who missed Grandma Bigham so much. We know Grandma Bigham knew the Lord and are confident that she is at peace with Him in heaven now and that is a reassuring feeling to have!

While we were there we had some great time with the family and friends and had a little fun in the snow too!

Our trip back was much better! We drove through the day on Tuesday and Harrison and Ava were able to watch DVD's. Luke was a perfect angel again and all the adults were much happier too!

Here are a few pictures of the family and our fun in the snow.
After the funeral we had lunch at the fire department. Harrison loved climbing on the fire trucks! All the cousins (that were there - I heard about 12 were missing!). Grandma Bigham had 8 children. There were a lot of people who loved her very much!
Grandpap Bigham with the Knight grandsons (minus Matt) and his Knight great grandchildren (minus Jack and Charlotte)
Harrison sledding in the snow
Ava in the snow
Mark and Luke in the snow. I think Luke slept through most of it!
Mike, me and Harrison in the snow!
Harrison and me sledding. I don't think he liked the snow flying up in his face.
Harrison, Ava and Luke warming up after playing in the snow!
The snow was beautiful, but I am glad to be home - my feet were cold!

I love the picture of Harrison and Ava and Luke. Harrison looks like he's worried about his responsibility. Family is special. You gave a nice tribute to Mrs. Bigham. She truly loved her family.

Sorry to hear about Mike's grandma. I'm glad everything went well--despite the horrible trip up there!
I love the pictures you posted and especially H's rosy cheeks after playing in the snow. :)
